Within this assignment, students were encouraged to pick a certain culture which resonated with them. In my case I chose food culture, specifically Asian Cuisine. During the time, I was heavily inspired by the Japanese Ghibli Anime Style of Hayao Miyazaki. As a way to expand our skills, we were encouraged to use mediums we have not tried before. Within my works I chose to morph photography (a skill I am competent) and digital drawing (something I had never tried). As a result I learnt how shadows work, how to animate and simplify subjects, using digital drawing programs, colour, layering and cel shading.
